about

Summer Songs Vol.II is the long awaited follow up to Summer Songs Vol. I and it is just what the summer needs and it gives the openness of hot funn in the summertime and cool long drinks of Lemonade. when the sun fades

.Summer is here! And so is, ‘Summer Songs Vol II, the long-awaited follow up by Songwriter, Poet, Bassist, Son of Pearl! (give a listen to ‘Summer Songs Volume I’, here: Summer Songs Vol. 1 | Son Of Pearl (bandcamp.com).

‘Summer Songs Vol II’ picks up where the Massalina Kid left off with over 108K streams of his full-length offering from 2022,’ Eclecticism’, moving steadily in the Mellowfunkism zone.

Son of Pearl has been busy opening dates for Orlando Jones aka Dr. Lee in the DMV (Delaware, DC, Maryland, Virginia area). He’ll be a start figure for one of the premiere Juneteenth Celebrations in the nation’s capital this year.

Set your summer to ‘Mellowfunkism’ time and frolic and parlay to the groove of Summer Songs Vol II. It’s sure to have everybody grooving, and here’s why:

Watch Me Kick This Funk

Kicks off the offering with a funk sing-a-long to get the listener in the view of what funk can be, as sang by Son Of Pearl “ haters come to the show and leave as fans” he has no time for the Strama his lingo for Stress + Drama

Over a Funkadelic roving bassline and hopped up fender Rhodes key board riff and a Bigfootish kick drum it will have you singing along before the second chorus

5 Miles High (feat Karlos BrickHouse) Produced by FlightBoy Music Of Baltimore

Five Miles High,” the new song by Son of Pearl (featuring Karlos Brickhouse), is what any long-time Son of Pearl listener has come to expect from the Florida/Baltimore based songwriter. Son of Pearl aims to get people grooving, and the bumping, rumbling, and plucking bass line that he lays down will accomplish just that.

With a sound that calls to mind some of the great bass players from the funk band era, it feels like a party is about to pop off somewhere. On “Five Miles High,” Son of Pearl uses his bass to lay down the foundation for a hard driving, funky love song.

On “Five Miles High” Son of Pearl and Karlos Brickhouse lay it down in a syncopated funk vibe that is funkalious and groove driven. “Five Miles High” is an on-the-one appeal to a young lady to let down her guard, step away from her current love interest, and take a chance on a next-level love.

Deep Conversation

The bump and grind of a midnight love song, with the groove of a mid-tempo Prince dance groove. It asks, ‘Can we talk below the dermis, get deep to uncomplicate the situation, and bring clarity to our lives?’ This new love inspired song by Muse incorporated, moves with a lounge-like Frank Sinatra -ish tone as Son Of Pearl uses his lower register to the laidback vibed need to move the conversation along.

The Ocean Song

The ocean covers over 71 percent of Earth’s surface. Son of Pearl has flown or sailed across 3 of those ocean regions. The Ocean Song is about a lover and the object of his desire finally being able to get into his caddy and drive down to the shore. With some nifty guitar by T. Bluesy, the production is clean and airy like an ocean breeze. It makes the listener want to visit all four distinct ocean regions: Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, and Arctic.

Song No.4 A.A.E.

Some time you hear a groove, and you just can't put a name to it. It’s like a secret and the grooves move you so much you can't let them go. This is Song No.4. AAE. Song of Pearl delivers on this future bass vibe. When the world needs more love songs, it can use a few that will make you dance while you dream of your desired destination.

Let's Get Mellow

Let's get mellow is a re-release from the 2nd ep created by Flight boy and Son of Pearl. In a short go-go bass vibe, it recalls a weekend spent with a lover ‘doing all the things lovers do (wine and dine and 69,) while nobody else has a clue, getting mellow is what you ought to do’. With the catch phrase "I won't go into that good night unless you're by my side. Let me show you the good life. Let's celebrate this time...

Great Summertime Music for the masses. Pull a song (or two or three). Aww hell, get the whole thang and love your Summer Songs Vol II.

Thank you.
